Phototherapy

DERMA-CARE centre uses the DAAVLIN 3 SERIES S 311/350 - 2424 which is the most advanced full body phototherapy cabinet used for vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and whole body itching especially of kidney failure. Patients need therapy from 12 to 24 weeks for vitiligo, 8 to 12 weeks for psoriasis and 4 to 6 weeks for atopic dermatitis. Treatments are scheduled thrice weekly for the entire course of therapy. The treatment schedules involve a 20 minute visit to the office each time for therapy which is painless and safe. It is contraindicated in patients who have skin cancers and degeneration of the retina.

Hand foot therapy for localized skin problems is also performed in hand eczema, psoriasis and hand foot vitiligo. In all phototherapy schedules concomitant treatment with creams and oral medication is provided. Efficacies of results vary from 30% to 90% depending of the duration, number of lesions and sites of involvement. Facial lesions respond far better than lesions on hands and feet.
